Do I need to know how to swim in order to snorkel?
Yes! We will be going 4-6 miles off the coast into the Atlantic Ocean. The ocean will have many different variables, such as waves and current. If you can not comfortably swim in a pool, the ocean is not the best place to try and learn.
Will we see sharks, sting rays, or other scary animals?
There is always the possibility to see sharks, rays, eels, and other larger wildlife because we are adventuring into their natural environment. However, there is nothing to worry about! There are no animals in the ocean that view humans as a food source. Sharks are actually a sign of a healthy ecosystem and are truly spectacular to see.
Will I get seasick?
There is always the possibility to get sea sick, especially if you are prone to motion sickness. If you think you might get sea sick, there are over the counter motion sickness medication that can be purchased at any pharmacy.
What do I need to need to bring?
Divers will need to bring their certification card while snorkelers just a towel & a smile. We provide free coral safe sunscreen on board. We will also have plenty of drinking water and fruit for snacks. However, feel free to bring any additional drinks or snacks on board. We have a large cooler filled with ice for your personal drinks. We simply ask that you don't bring glass, styrofoam, or plastic bags on the boat.
Do you still go out during bad weather or rough seas?
Safety is our #1 priority, and we will never put any of our customers in a dangerous situation. Unfortunately, many of our trips can be dictated by the weather. If there are thunderstorms, rough seas, or high winds, we will not be able to safely snorkel on the reefs. We will always strive to make your experience with Paradise Island as fun and memorable as possible.
How many people will be on the boat?
Our vessel, Paradise Below, is Coast Guard certified to carry 20 passengers. However, we try to cap our boat at 15 customers in order to maximize your experience with us. We believe in providing a higher quality service by providing a personalized and intimate experience.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes. We ask that you let us know 48 hours in advance if you need to cancel or change your reservation. We will always do our best to accommodate you. However if you don't show for your reservation, we can not resell those reserved seats. Therefore, there will be a full trip charge for any no shows or cancellations within our 48 hour cancellation period.
